About Me

March 14, 2015

Writing a blog is an evolutionary process of discovery.  When I first started writing this blog, I thought a short blip about myself was all I needed to put on the internet. However, after looking at my Google analytics for this blog, it appears that people are more interested in my back story than I originally thought. So, I have decided to add a little more information about me.

When I was a kid, I used to tinker in and around the house. I would take things apart like lawnmowers, speakers, amps, etc, and put them back together. At some point during my childhood, I received a TRS-80 computer from my uncle. I would spend hours programming something that was very basic to use, however it taught me how things work and the steps that are needed to put it all together. Later in life this led me to a small technical college where I graduated in Computer Electronics. I then went on to work in the computer field for many years. While I was in the computer industry, I made friends with people from other countries and soon after, I found myself dreaming of leaving everything behind to travel and see how other cultures lived. One day, I decided to do just that and set off on a round-the-world trip with my wife for over a year. Once I got back from the trip, I went straight back to working in IT. When I was about 9 months in, I realized that working in a cubicle was not working for me anymore. I felt closed in after coming back and I realized that I needed to solve problems with my own two hands like I used to when I was a kid.

That is when I then decided to go back to school to get a degree in Carpentry. After graduating, I worked in carpentry for a bit before travel started calling to me again. I once again decided a drastic change needed to happen, so I sold off everything I owned and wandered until I found a place that I would call home. After several years of traveling, I found that place in Queretaro, Mexico.

Since then, I discovered many different things to write about when things did not go according to plan. It has pushed me into thinking about how to woodwork or DIY crafts while traveling. Everyday, I learn a little more about art and how it relates to life and travel. Like I stated above, blogging is a evolutionary process of discovery, so I hope you come back to see what I am writing about, and what projects I am working on.
